10 Ways to Tell If It's Your Passion
I read a lot of books on personal finance and wealth, and one thing is usually common amongst the different titles – you have to find your passion to be successful and make lots of money. But, what does that really mean? Is it a hobby? Is it recreation?
The problem is, hobbies or recreational activities are fun for a while and often best done in our spare time. Pretty soon, you can lose interest. So, I've been confused as of late, as to what passion really means.
After thinking about it, I've come up with a list of ten things that could help you decide if something is your passion:
1.) When you wake up in the morning, does your heart beat fast and you can't wait to get out of bed?
2.) Do you feel like your on a mission … or a singular purpose that you must get accomplished no matter what?
3.) Do you feel the need to tell everyone about what you're doing?
4.) No matter how physically or mentally tired you are, you always feel the need to keep going.
5.) It doesn't matter if your friends, family or anyone else say negative things about what your doing, you still believe in it.
6.) Would you do it for free? I hear this one a lot – why do it for free, if you don't have to, though! ;)
7.) Even though your mind tells you NOT to do it, your heart or a gut feeling tells you that it's right for you.
8.) You never get bored … you always learn something new and it keeps you engaged.
9.) It doesn't matter what 'the crowd' is doing … even if what you're doing is totally different, you just don't care.
10.) Do you notice the passing of time? Do the hours just zoom by?
If one or more on this list are true, it could be worth investigating …
At the end of the day, does it frighten you? Does is make you uncomfortable?
It could be your body's way of letting you know that your passion is near.

My passion is helping others get out of debt and stay their.
It's funny of all the things you mentioned in your list for a passion about 8 out of 10 describe my passion for helping others get debt free. I like this passion primarially because when I was in financial services I helped many families with their debt issues.
I've seen people get very emotional talking about their problems and when I help them get on the road to getting out of debt and they could see the light at the end of the tunnel and how much joy that could bring to them. That's what drives me, that smile and happiness they get know that I have helped them.
That's what I hope to accomplish with my blog.

Passion or Purpose?
While passion will definitely get you going and it will see you succeed I do believe there is something else that will help you acheive.
Having a purpose can be a huge driving force. If you are doing something for someone else (i.e. your family, leaving a legacy).
You could say passion and purpose tend to blend in a bit together, and when they do, thats a powerful force.
Purpose
@Adam Purpose is definitely one of the driving forces behind passion. Without purpose, a passion is just a hobby, I think.
I can say that I have found
I can say that I have found pretty much all these steppes when I tried to find out what my passion is and I decided to do pilot jobs pretty much all my life. I have to say that there are really few people who actually enjoy what they are doing and go to work with a happy face, and I'm really glad to be one of them. I would fly a plane 24/7 and not get bored.
