Dealing With Stress
After a long day of work, I have to keep telling myself that it is important to have a sense of humour and not take myself too seriously.
When work gets us down or we are stressed, it is so tempting to get pissed or frustrated at the world. I've seen stressed out people get easily offended or become overly sensitive to the situations around them.
While scanning some documents today for like the tenth time, I was very much considering ripping the scanner out of my computer by its USB cable, and twirling it about, but I resisted and stopped.
I just thought, what's the point? It's just an inanimate object and can't do anything to me. As it turned out, it actually wasn't the scanner screwing up, it was me. So, I chuckled to myself and then finished my task after deciding to change my approach.
When you're feeling frustrated, go for a walk and take your mind off your work. Think about something else and take a breather, then you will be ready to tackle things with a new attitude.
If what your doing isn't working, do something different!
The definition of 'hell' is doing the same thing, but expecting a different result each time.
And remember, never get upset - just laugh.
