Saturday Linkstuff, Bad Service Edition

It all started last week with my trip to Ciniplex to watch Star Trek, which was subsequently ruined by a crappy theatre and terrible service. I sent an email to their head office, which was then forwarded to someone else in customer service, who then forwarded it the theatre.  I haven't heard anything yet.

Then, last night we ordered $20 nachos (!?) at a local bar. The first set was burned so we returned it. The second set was undercooked so we returned it again. Finally, they seemed to get it right … until we lifted the top layer of chips which revealed a pile of crumbled chips beneath, with no cheese or anything. Presumably, we joked that the cook was taking some sort of revenge. Shame on you local bar!

This morning I went to Starbucks and they were out of coffee!? She said I'd have to wait 2 minutes or she could give me an Americano which I gladly accepted (and it was delicious!) Unfortunately, I was given the wrong size, but they did give me another one.

Let's play a game – let's raise prices, staff our establishments with bored, underpaid employees, and see how much money we can make! Wanna play?!

Anyways, the only bright spot in all of this … is the following set of great posts from around the blogosphere:

Thanks for the mention strump. Hope you are enjoying your long weekend.

Thank you

Thanks for the mention!

Exceed expectation

In fact, giving the standard customer service is somehow expected. Businesses have to provide the standard level .. or else, it just annoys us nowadays.
This is also a good thing. If you are able to provide something that's more than the "standard", you thrive. We do notice all the extra things you do.

Have a great weekend!

Customer Service

@KCLau Some businesses can't even maintain the standard, it seems. I think they've gotten used to the booming economy the past few years.

Thanks

Thanks for sharing my article.

Thank you

Thanks for including me in your roundup. I'm happy to report that we will be purchasing many flowers and plantings from our local nursery in the next few days. Trying to do our part!

Buying Local

@Money Beagle Well done! Trying to buy local as much as I can but I have to admit, I am easily enticed by low prices! Must get out of that.
